What garmin (eTrex?) works with MapSource and CityNavigator

I've got a Garmin Edge 605 and I bought City Navigator Europe on DVD to use with it.
However I'm now selling it 'cos i want one with removable batteries.
i.e. one of the eTrex ones look like what i need to be aiming for.

Does anyone know whether, and which one, I will be able to use with my existing MapSource software with the full city navigator europe maps installed - OR, whether it will be pretty painless to switch over to use the maps i've already bought with the eTrex?

Thanks

Dunno about swapping the software, but I've got a barely used eTrex Vista HCX with Topo maps + O/S bar mount + 1Gb microSD if you want to swap. I only really use it as a glorified cycle computer and its a bit bulky for that. I'm not really serious enough to use full mapping;)

I'm working in Rotherham at some point this week if that helps?

City Navigator Europe - click the link to compatible products on that page.

yeah, that's why i'm confused, because that doesnt list the venture cx or the vista hcx for that matter, but it doesn't even list the 605, which definitely is compatible with the city navigator europe that i've got.
But if you go on https://buy.garmin.com/shop/buymaps.do
this page, then enter vista hcx or venture cx then it brings you city navigator europe, which takes you to
https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=6299&pvID=7880#productTab
which DOES list it!

For hardware, the Etrex Legend HCx is the equivalent of the Edge 605.
The Vista HCx has added barometric altimeter and compass.

When I got City Navigator DVD, it came valid for 2 devices. When I first used it, it was registered with Garmin against my GPS, and the SD cards I write will only work on that GPS (I did try this out by swapping cards with someone else). I can therefore get a new GPS and it will also register to that, but a 3rd GPS means I'll have to buy a new copy of CN.
What I don't know is whether the same 2 device policy was in force at the time you bought your CN (or even whether it still is).

I wonder whether you can unregister a device?

I wouldn't expect you can, as you would still have any cards you'd already created that would work with the old device.

Apparently you can sometimes get extra unlock codes if your GPS packs in, but you've probably got to send off the dead GPS first.
