Bob Dylan Leeds arena. Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful.

I've seen Bob Dylan six times now, each one utterly different. The man just keeps reinventing himself. We didn't actually "see" him, just listened, the stage was in darkness bar enough lighting to allow the musicians to see. Dylan played piano and harmonica throughout. He didn't speak a word. He sat behind his piano, centre stage and until he stood for 20 seconds at the end that was it.

Bob Dylan. That's what you get. Wonderful bluesy, guitar, piano, drums. Lots of rhythm.

It was a phone free gig. No phones allowed. Brilliant idea.

Devon Philharmonic Orchestra doing an all-Russian programme, including Ryan Wang playing an astounding Rachmaninov 2nd Piano Concerto. Only about 18, but he's really quite something already. (I wasn't playing as thought I might have been under the surgeon's knife by now, so instead was on photographic duties. It was rubbish light, so was pleased to get a few passable shots.)

Great Canadian rock band called The Damn Truth in our local wee venue last night - they deserve to be playing decent sized venues, not to 100+ people.
Also supported by Parker Barrow, a really good country rock style band from Nashville.

Saturday night I went down to Bournemouth with my daughter and my partner to see Joy Crookes.

It was the venue effectively inside the shopping centre, so parking was very easy, and cheap to be fair.

As a strange happenchance, we managed to walk past her going into the back of the venue, as we were walking in the front.
I clocked who it was, but only properly as we were level, and my daughter and partner didn't realise at all until I said, and then it was too late.
Shame, as it would have been nice to have asked her for a picture with my daughter, I suspect she would have obliged.

Inside the venue was pretty small and cosy, and not too overcrowded - 95% standing, which is where we were, maybe 10-12 'rows' back from the front.

Support was ok, on for 40 minutes starting at 19:30, and then Joy came on at 20:30, and was on until 21:45 or so.

She was even better than I had hoped, great vocals, brilliant band, fun banter, but tackled a few serious subjects as well.
Highly recommended, and we'd see her again in a heartbeat - venue was one of the best as well.
