Although the courses do vary: the Worlds often has a lot of climbing (Julia Alan Philippe ain't no sprinter), and The TdF could have a lot of flat TTs again.

My sense is that points, bonuses and the varying terrains will continue to be adjusted to ensure that it remains entertaining. The Mountains however will be the main event as it is the toughest. They just have to be careful that the first time trial does set an advantage and kill the suspense.
