That is a widely held misconception. Phase changes and equilibrium can be affected by temperature. In a very simplified system contrary to popular myth, you might expect more rain for this reason - completely the opposite to the 'common sense' joke about it.

april showers , may flowers. how old is that litttle saying in folklore. April has been skewed for a few years with hot sunny weather , but the general trend is heavy showers for most of April. the almost constant rain with heavy downpours is not the general weather, but could well end up.

I was commenting on the behaviour of the press, not the science.

Oh come on, credit where credit is due. No one, to my knowledge, has ever refuted Climate change with Neptune as an example. Climate scientists are missing a trick.

Traditionally solar observatories have been stationed out far in space at what are called Lagrangian points. If you google L1 and L2 and various solar observatories you'll find this is the case.

The local weather station beat the record today I believe for April. Records go as far back as 1882. The previous record was April 2000 which was also insanely wet. So the total rain a fairly rare event (for here at least).
