Fettled some steel tubes today 😁. Tomorrow I’ll start taking a brazing torch to them

Yesterday fettled the Fairlight and fitted an Igaro usb charger in-line with the light on the dynamo; seems good but will double check with a ride at some point.

I keep wondering if my 4iiii Precision 2.0 on my 105 road bike would easily transfer to my GRX gravel ebike, so I could cry at my actual numbers in addition to the motor.

If both Hollowtech 2, same length, and both attach with two bolts to tighten then should be good.

Give it a go! I can thoroughly recommend the experience (although ask me again once I’ve built it up and ridden it🤞). It’s new to me, but I was under the watchful eyes of Sam and Willow at Stayer in Leytonstone. It’s been a brilliant week.

Here’s the frame ready for painting:

It’s not perfect, but I’m very happy with it for a first attempt

As it happens Stayer’s frame painter does a clear finish that leaves all the brazing and heat marks on display and I’ve gone for that. Luckily the head tube/top tube join went well since it’ll be in my eyeline constantly 😁
