Nope, didn't work, still getting the silence, sulks and miseries. Mended my front light on the bicycle though, which had sheared off. New hole drilled, duly fitted and well chuffed ... which is more than I can say for my married life. Oh to be able to zap myself off to another dimension

Mozzy, go out and buy the biggest, fluffiest, thickest, softest white dressing gown you can find, tie a bow round it, put it on a chair in the bathroom with a good book, set up a hot bath with lots of brand new nightlights [newly lit] and a tall flute glass of Cava [or champagne if you prefer] and guide your wife into the bathroom for a long soak.

OK so far.... now you can legitimately say she looks wrinkly when she gets out.

Why cant we just tell the truth without the fear of the bloody sulks? It is what it is for cripes sake, why can't they get over it. Good idea though

There is nothing more insulting that False Sincerity, its true.

I have a feeling after full day with no tea... everybody will bring milk tomorrow! possibly

Where I worked a while back, there was no milk in the fridge one morning, so I went to the local shop to get some. I got back with it and then realised that other people brought their own and left it in the fridge to be used, thereby creating just the right amount of milk needed for the day.
The milk I had bought was duly ignored, so I just nicked theirs instead after that.

That seems to be a skill that I've lost since I've 'grown up' or maybe I'm just too scaredy-cat now!

I'm the opposite, I was a scaredykid, wouldn't ride without hands or even dive for a football when in goal in case I hurt myself.

Now however, I am able to ride a bike with no hands, I have finally reached the riding skill level of a 10 year old, YAY!!
Another couple of years and I'll be able to do my Cycling Proficiency test!:biggrin:

A trip in a gondola. First time to Venice and had to do the short trip around the canals in a gondola - great fun and remarkably good boat handling skills by the gondolier.

Was Venice as much of a dump as Naples was?

Riding bike hands-free! Only mastered the art a few weeks back.
It's great fun!

Green with envy I am........can't even ride one handed! Which, given my current predicament would be great!

How do you do it? What bike you got? Is it just down to good balance or is it the bike that makes the difference?

I just sit up straight, relaxing myself, balancing myself as upright as possible and a bit towards the back the saddle as best I can, make sure I do not have any unwanted movement, and then I take my hands off.

I don't know about the type of bike (although it is easier on my Road bike, the forks don't accidentally turn as easily), but certainly it is down to good balance and relaxing/confidence. Oh, and being able to grab the handlebars again quickly if it all starts to go t*ts up!:blush:

Congratulations TVC... could you see anything?

Yep, we were in Stoney Cove, the visibility was at least 6m horizontal and 18m straight down. The best bit was, because the Dive Show is on at the NEC today there was hardly anyone there, so none of the muck got stirred up.

I have a Specialized Allez (road bike).

Hands-free takes some practice...
Find a nice straight road (slight downhill works best for me), nice lowish gear so you're not grinding the pedals, nice pace (not too slow, not too fast), staighten your arms, sit upright/slightly leaning back, then let go of the handlebars. Do it for a couple of seconds, then as you get more confident do it for longer.

You can't ride one-handed? I guess you don't give hand signals for left/right turning, then....
