Gravel bikes - meh - "road bikes" built to handle cycle-paths, tracks and trails 😉

Agreed, nothing but a hybrid with drop bars!

I think Freiston was closer.

Hybrids are closer to mountain bikes in geometry and gearing. Gravel bikes are closer to Road bikes in both.

But in reality, I dare say that most mountain bikes and gravel bikes bought in the UK do more miles on roads/paved surfaces than any other surface - so in practice, they're both types of road bike 😉

All just labels. I have a pure 'road' frame, if you will, with wide-range gearing and flat bars. It's a hybrid in the true sense, being actually built from a mix of 'labels'.

Fair enough.

I suppose I was thinking more along the marketing lines - what the bikes are sold as, rather than what they are in reality.
