What is the worst mpg car you have owned (or borrowed)

Idk what mpg any of my cars got but I think my Ferrari 360 was the least frugal of all but not by much.

I thought they were not bad with a gentle right foot? I've had 4 M3s (E46) incl 3 CSLs.

Agree, E46 M3 was better, I had one for 5 years, V8 was much worse.

Yeah but wasn't as powerful, 2 less cylinders etc. That V8 is a marvel.

Yep, pre-turbo M Sport engines were epic! No wonder they put one in the McLaren F1

Technically they put two M3 inline sixes into the F1 to make a 12 cyl power house. Phenomenal car with tall gearing iirc 1st gear stretches to 70mph.

I forgot. I owned a 2 9 Ford Scorpio for some years.
A lovely car but it did go through some fuel, approx 22 mpg.
I eventually sold it to my brother who only kept it a short while... due to its poor mpg which hadn't thought about when he bought it.

The engine in the new T50 ought to be amazing, if the interview with Gordon Murray in Top Gear magazine is anything to go by
Particularly the incredible tick-over to red-line time

The Granada Scorpio has been mentioned above.
We had one, as a courtesy car, for a couple of days, whilst our much more humble little hatchback had some warranty work done.
So we went for a drive.
What I remember most, apart from the petrol gauge almost visibly heading for the red line, was the sounds emanating from the back, where our daughter, who I guess would have been about 8, was busily powering the windows up and down, and powering the seats into all sorts of contortions, just because she could......

VW beetle, new type. 1.6 petrol, I couldn't fit a Mclaren stroller in the boot, drank fuel. shite just shite.

We had a mini cooper s. SO got really bad fuel economy out of it but I got good mpg. I could not understand why until I went out with her and she floored it everywhere we went, even for stop go traffic.

Why are you driving like that I asked of her. She told me she likes the way it sounds!

I once ran into an issue where the three-year lease on my company-provided car was up but the lead time on its replacement was very long, meaning I had a few week gap. I cast out on Facebook for anyone who might have a car I could borrow or buy for cheap and a friend of mine responded. He lived in the UK but was working in Hong Kong for a few months and his car was sat at home doing nothing - I could use it if I covered the cost of getting it MOTed and having me added to the insurance. I was happy to oblige so I rode my motorbike to his house, parked it in his garage and drove away in his [takes deep breath] Mitsubishi Lancer Evo XIII MR FQ340[/gasp].

Typical 90s Japanese interior (so nothing special) but it did get down the road when the turbo came online. It also drank fuel at around low 20s mpg. It also had an awful turning circle. I had to replace two tyres for lots of moneys. And the windscreen. It was a fun loaner, but I wouldn't have one.

My Defenders, always did 28 mpg no matter what way you drove them.

My Disco did about 15 or 16 on petrol. Some previous owner had given it an LPG conversion and I could see why, but I always felt that if they couldn't afford to run it then they'd bought the wrong vehicle to begin with.

Worst for me was either a mk 1 Escort Mexico that had been extensively modified for road rallying with twin Weber carbs and hi lift cam etc etc and a TVR 3000m I owned if either did more than 90 miles before needing fuel I was very lucky or close to running out

As a foot note our Nissan note averaged over 51 mpg up to North Wales recently
