It's perfectly reasonable to ignore the fact that bottles of Genlivit Whiskey can be found in the shops today. It is perfectly reasonable to ignore the information stated on the Glenlinit Distillery website itself. www.theglenlivet.com

I am however curious that based upon your belief that the company itself is wrong...What you believe they make then?
I think you are missing the point that one or two of us have made referring to the spelling of the word "whisky" (as given in the link which you supplied). The Scottish product, of which Glenlivet is one, is spelt without an "E". Generally, it is only the Irish product which is spelt "whiskey" with the "E". This may well sound pedantic, but to us Scots it is a serious matter .

They should bring out more ales with names like Eddie & Hallow be thy name etc
How about a little Eddie that pops up like a jack in a box when you knock the top off?

Hot day, just a social couple ; cider or beer or larger.

Off out to get drunk, cheap vodka.

Hot evening, most likely abroad, neat, quality vodka.

How about a small wager then? If you can find a bottle of Glenlivet whiskey for sale today I'll buy it for you.
If you can't find one you buy me a bottle of Laphroig quarter cask whisky.

Deal?

Both are given spellings for the same word, so your pedantry is misplaced.

Nooooo!!! Whisky is the Scottish way. Spell it any other way, and it's not PROPER whisky!

The definitition of pedantry which has been expressed so well in this thread is excessive concern with minor details and rules.
Now based upon what you have stated you need to run down the bank and withdraw £13,000 as the following URL has for sale a Glenlivit 70 year old whiskey (spelt with an 'e') and a convenient buy now button.

http://uncrate.com/stuff/glenlivet-70-year-old-whiskey/

I hate to be pedantic unlike some people in this thread but if we are looking at details, at no point did you state in your offer anything specific about the label on the bottle or box. You simply needed me to find a bottle of Genlivit Whiskey for sale today which I have clearly done according to that site. What is delivered has no bearing on the terms you stated and if it is now what is desired I am sure I can return it :becool:

Pedantry is never misplaced.

I'm starting to see your point now for some reason
:hugs:Shall I PM you my address?

I voted for wine, since that is what I drink most often, but really there is a difference between softer alcoholic beverages, such as beer or wine, and the harder stuff - whisky, rum, vodka etc. When it comes to the harder stuff I am very much a rum guy. In fact, my favourite alcoholic drink full stop (although I seldom get it) is straight 18 year-old Eldorado rum - a great sipping rum from Guyana. It ain't cheap, nor easy to find (but nowhere near as costly as the 25 year old Eldorado!)

Unfortunately, it is the seller who cannot spell properly. If you click on his link, it takes you here, where the spelling is correct. WHISKY! Oh, and GlenlivEt too, just to be really pedantic.
