You've lost me there, sorry.

Two different men have been Alvin Stardust. Shelley was the first, but decided he couldn't handle the fame so Bernard Jewry took over the persona and became the one most folk know.

If memory serves this wasnt the first time Jewry had done something like this, as he was the second man to be Shane Fenton in the Fentones.

@Drago 's claim to fame is that he knows more than anyone about Alvin Stardust.

Well more than anyone on Cyclechat, which is much the same thing.

Thank you! Every day is a school day, I had no idea there had been two.

I can't remember the exact year he went past us, possibly about 1977 and seem to recall he was in an Austin Princess.

Speaking of Alvin, anyone remember this

Sometime in the 80s the Queen drive through my parents' village. My mother was gardening in the front garden when the car and associated vehicles drive through. She didn't wave. (My mum, that is. HRH may or may not have waved).

I wasn't there.

At my daughters primary school there were only a few 'school Dads' so we were on nodding terms, at least, with occasional small talk being held.
So Carl Beech, me and a couple of others ....

2 Was in a cafe on the Norfolk Broads, when Rod Hull walked in, had a look round to see if the owners were looking, grabbed a handful of sugar sachets, and walked off.

Another claim to fame, was I went to the same school as Stuart Sutcliffe and although he was there a few years before me, we both took art and had the same teacher. My art came to nothing, but many years after his death, they found one of his works in the art cupboard and they sold it to fund some project.
