He did indeed. I wonder if he realises that and if so does it keep him awake at night.

Oh I think he does, absolutely!

If you are reading this Your Majesty, a Knighthood would be good enough to cover it and you'll be able to sleep again too! 😆

I cannot remember the last time I actually saw any of the Royals now though.
I saw most of the 'seniors' (except for Camila and Randy Andy's Daughters) at things a good few years ago now.
I've not seen Kate, Megan or the younger ones though, which dates the last time I bothered with any of it.

Oh, also, I am not sure if I ever saw Princess Margaret or the Queen Mum, but I certainly saw Diana! 😍

This is not a boast, far from it, but I have lost count of the times I actually saw the Queen - To explain, I spent quite a bit of time in London over 20 years and I ended up going to events to photograph them.

The encounter in Edinburgh was the closest I ever got to her though. She was right there in front of us, touching distance in fact!

I was a bit young and stupid at the time, but I am no Monarchist now!

You missed the opportunity to concoct a joke involving the words "duchess" and "old boiler"

Probably for the best.
Oh I would never besmirch a 'Duchess' class loco, I have far too much respect for them... Unlike some certain Royals I can think of...

I also saw and met Politicians, celebs, sports people and Olympic (and Paralympic) athletes at things.
It was great, I even saw Paddy Ashdown skip down a street at St Pauls Cathedral with who I presume was a grand daughter or similar.

However, 20 years on? I am less interested.

... Not 20 years ago, but I even ended sitting next to Dame Sarah Storey's family at the road cycling at Brands Hatch (completely accidentally I hasten to add, I don't think I was meant to be there). It was the 2012 London Paralympics and it was the day she broke Tani Grey Thompson's medal record (I think).
Her young nephew (as was Sarah), was over the moon and I got pictures of them both, complete with medal.

I also met various other athletes and their families, I even shared a bus ride with the parents of a U.S. female Paralympic cyclist, but I cannot remember who it was now. 🤦‍♂️

I'll really need to dust these pictures down some time... 😊

And... I knew the Mum of Former Scottish Greens Leader, Patrick Harvey.
They were neighbours and you'd see her going to and from her allotment all the time, usually with a wheelbarrow and shovel.

She was also highly involved with many local issues and I can imagine that it must have been an inspiration for a Young Patrick back in the day!

I moved away, so I have no idea if she is still about.

This is the woman who took up running at 71 and she ran marathons!

I remember going to an open-air concert in (IIRC) Holland Park in the 1970s and Joan Baez was sitting in the row behind me.
