Choices, choices!
  • If you've got at least a 300W power supply and don't mind spending a bit more, then tincan's GTX 750 is a good choice, and you won't have problems with power connectors. If it works, this will give the best on-screen results.
  • fossy's GTX 460 card isn't quite as powerful but needs more actual power (Watts) which may be in issue for your power supply. Min 450W power supply required. It is, however, cheaper. Note that it needs two free internal PCI power cables which your PC may not have.
  • crackle's HD 5450 will almost certainly work, is cheap, but is much less powerful than the other two.
I'm inclined to go with the cheap one!

Is that a simpler option ?

If I had the money I'd choose tincanman's. If I didn't and I wasn't sure about the power supply, I'd choose mine.

When I built the old PC, it started with a cheap ATI 9550. I year or so later got a 850XT PE (Platinum Edition) for about £250 - super fast card and noisy as well. Last year I picked up current card second hand for £40, and it's so much better (and quiet) - it's only used for web, but the old card didn't have the memory. Crazy how technology progresses.

My son's current graphic card is a beast. Cost £270 !!!

Looking at your picture again, you might have struggled with a two slot width card i.e. any with a fan so that MSI will probably work better in your machine.

Yep, and it matches his MSI Motherboard - all red and black with watercooling. The machine heats the bedroom. The case is just 23c at the intake, and 23c at the exhaust. The watercooling takes the heat to a radiator on the back and blows out red hot air....
It looks like this one, but is a newer chipset
