What makes you smile (or not) on your cycle runs?

The wildlife, especially the new born deer at WGP, they are very inquisitive.

We mainly ride on canal towpaths. I always enjoy the wildlife, especially watching the ducklings and signets growing through the year. It's always nice to see people out enjoying a bit of green, whether they're walking, fishing, cycling or (round Rochdale at least) enjoying an early morning livener!

Theres a swan on the canal near Barton bridge , very territorial ! Our stand off always makes me smile, and I concede every time and get on the road out of her way

It's even better on christmas day when roads are deserted. Theres an eerie magic to it

I like it when I'm out on my 'bent and people smile at it and kids are all "wow look at that" about it. But then I'm an attention-seeking fool.

I like to see the little birds relaying along the hedgerow ahead of you - yellowhammers are best.

There is a colony of wild rabbits on one of my routes.
After recent building works in the area I thought they would have gone, but they are still there ... so cute!

They're braver than the bunnies in Watership Down then.

Yep a recumbent. Hence the spelling with the aspostrophe: 'bent. TBH mine is actually a semi-'bent but I couldn't be bovvered to type that.

Most of my riding is rural. Deer, badgers, foxes an owls are all regular sightings,.sometimes quite close up. Always makes me smile.

I also smile when I crest the hill outside work and see the wind farm on the horizon. That's the direction I'm headed home.

my commute is on several main roads for 3 1/2 miles. not a lot to smile about. nice to see how many other cyclists there are tho and always happy to give a wave.

Cycling in the sun. Hubby and I hired a couple of mountain bikes from Bike Point in Tenerife a couple of years ago. We're both short and they only had one "regular" hire mountain bike, so as I have the longer inside leg I got the free upgrade to a Marin Nail Trail, lovely bike!
Had a great time, fell off twice, smashed ipod and wrecked shoes but it was FUN!
