What makes you smile (or not) on your cycle runs?

Going out for a ride with my brother and upon stopping at his house to find him breathing heavyish, while I'm fine

Just the feeling of freedom when you are flat out but its no effort at all .

Seeing cars stuck in traffic and the drivers of two cars exchanging details, a bumper lying on the ground and a dented wing ………… or some numptee has gone into the back of the car in front ………….. makes me smile.

What makes me smile on a run...? the company of the other peeps I'm riding with.

What makes me smile:
On the drops, long section of road, get into a rythmn and sit at about 25mph.
What makes me smile more, seeing someone in the distance, then head down trying to catch them.
What doesn't make me smile: The recent weather where it's made the above difficult to do

I do get a wry smile when cars smash their valences on speed bumps. Even more satisfying to hear sump bump.

Last year I was cycling along in my lycra when a fit looking bit of mature in a BMW pulls alongside and shouts at me "nice arse." Put a smile on my face torn the rest of the day.

A humply road where the preceding downhill gives you enough speed to crest the next rise without pedalling. Especially pleasing when on a tandem

Theres someone round here who rides a Pinarello Rokh.Head in air he rides along,pretending the peasants dont exist.What makes me giggle is the fact that not only does he wear full Assos(and he does fill it) but if you were to look closely,you might notice his Hi-Tec trainers and "get you home"pedals(please dont be offended if you dont clip in,or wear trainers yourself its not my intention to offend).As a result he rides in the style of a chav on a BSO,knees and feet splayed out,and very,very slowly!Cheers me up every time I see him
