You could do the North Sea route from the Shetlands, down across the channel, through the low countries and round to Norway.

The Wiki page seems to do it in the opposite direction I'd do it.

That said 874(?) miles to 3728.2 miles in a bit of a leap!

Draw a straight line between 2 places and try to keep as close to it as possible, allowing for running off route to places of interest. It can make for an interesting ride.
You could do Dover to Durness or reverse something I have done in parts of again using the straight line, when I did the northern route from Durness to Carlisle I found myself using Land rover tracks in places and in other places very minor tarmac roads.
