Yep I got into them in 85 (I had heard them before) when I split up with my fiance and moved to a flat in town, my 'local' became a pub called 'The Mag' (The Magazine Hotel) and the landlord (Mark Kershaw*) was a massive Robert Cray and Toots fan and of a Friday/Saturday night he'd come down to the front bar (having worked all day and then gone upstairs for his dinner and time with his wife and child) about 10 ish and take over the stereo (They even had a turntable behind the bar not to mention a big pair of KEF speakers on one end and Bose 301s the other)
He'd normally start with something like 'Bad Influence'

Then run through a few songs before 'Pressure Drop' was played

The Pub used to erupt, everybody was dancing it was like the pub 'anthem' :becool:

* I still see Mark every now and then (he moved away as his son started to get a bit older as he didn't want him growing up in a city centre pub)

Magazine...... where is that?
Wallasey per chance ?

I quite like the idea of building my own frame and using the resulting bike to ride LEL or PBP.
I also quite like the idea of scoring the winning goal in the World Cup final, which is about as likely

I still want to finish my interrupted tour of Europe and cycle round the Baltic.

Had you asked me a year ago I'd have said cycling from Ushuaia to Utqiagvik (the town formerly known as Barrow) Prudhoe Bay was on my probably-won't-happen-but-gosh-wouldn't-it-be-lovely list, but having flown the first quarter of the trip in Flight Sim 2020 I'm not so sure anymore. It turns out that the world is bloody massive.

Less specifically cycling-related, on entering my 40s, I intended to start doing the Munros entirely under my own power (so no driving or getting a train or boat to the foot of a climb etc) but then Covid happened and kicked it all into the very very long grass.

Edit: there's no overland route to Utqiagvik. I'd have to do it in deep Alaskan winter with properly specialist equipment and that's not the kind of challenge I enjoy.

All I want is to do my 2020 tour from home in Somerset to Harwich, ferry to the Hoek and then on to my son's place in Groningen (Netherlands) and back. The ferry journey has been booked twice, and postponed twice.
