Most library systems now seem to employ a small number of dedicated librarians and then other staff to do the more mundane tasks such as restocking. It doesn't surprise me as noted above that a lot of the jobs have been replaced by volunteer staff.

I'm glad you realised I was being tongue in cheek. :laugh:

Indeed, particularly when it involves detailed referencing to works that are often print only.
