What qualifications do I need to become a librarian?

A childhood friend of mine is a librarian. She did a 3 year degree followed by a 2 year masters course in Library Science.

Being a librarian is not just about putting books on shelves, it's also about knowing where to find information when people ask for it.

My eldest son was a chartered librarian which required a degree. He later moved on to become a college lecturer but on computer studies instead.

I think you'll find libraries open rather earlier than 1pm, imagine being a library volunteer (most are) and getting up early.

Yes, getting up early could be a problem.🤔

I thought it might need a degree when I asked in my opening post. 'Library Science' though! What the feck does that involve? 🤔 🧐

No, a head librarian or Library manager etc will need a Library degree. A volunteer or assistant librarian will not.

Firstly you need to be recruited by "The Library"

Surely I can't be the only one who watched this?
