I've got around £600 to spend to replace my Carrera Crossfire 2 and I just don't know what to get to replace it,
I will be riding mostly on road and canal path/dirt tracks. I'm torn between the Giant Roam 2 and the Specialized Crosstrail Sport Disc, this baby http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Specialized-Sirrus-Comp-Disc-2013-Flatbar-Road-Bike_56105.htm also caught my eye but I'm not sure how practical it will be off road, would love any feedback or advice.
Thanks

How off road is the off road? Paths through parks, Sirrus more than adequate and will be far better on the road. Paths through woods, and not smooth(ish), you'll want meatier but will be harder work. If going for suspension, make sure it has a lock out. Then it comes down to which bike you like most on test ride

Get the Sirrus for roads and keep the crossfire for the rougher stuff? Or a road or CX bike, the latter will do rougher stuff too

I'm afraid keeping the Crossfire is not an option since me and it came off second best in a fight with a Ford Focus. I've got a Carrera Zelos for on the road but like having the option to take the path less travelled Going to Evans later to try a couple of bikes out but I reckon I'll end up spoiled for choice, first world problems eh :-)

Crosstrail or the Roam for me if you already have a road bike, the Sirrus although a great bike IMO with the compact gearing is more for road than canal paths etc.
