There is one glaring omission from the Olympic programme.....

..... SQUASH!!

Why that isn't an Olympic sport I really don't know.

Anyway....

Lacross - fast and physical

Things like Shinty, Hurling and that one that is meant to be the fastest sport in the world (I can't remember the name) too.

Egg and spoon race?

Also things like the assault course, the sack race, the three legged race, the wheelbarrow race, throwing beanbags into hoops at various distances, and of course, the event where the Athlete's parents/relatives/friends of the family have to run a race (non athletes only, just to give the average person on the street at least one chance to win gold, although age categories might have to be part of it).

All competeted in a kit of shorts, tee - shirt and a coloured band over their shoulders, except for the relative/friend race, where they would have to compete in normal clothing.

I know someone (herself a multiple world record winner in the past and I believe still the holder of the woman's 48 hour record) who is involved in long-standing lobbying to introduce ultra distance running events. Apparently the objection is that they don't involve enough people participating to be sure that the field really is world class. To which I would answer, have you ever met anyone who participates in synchronised diving?

I think you are right, but given there is already ski cross, and cross country skiing it was a bit ambiguous

I thought you meant Knots And Crosses played on a giant board made out of snow!!

Now, whilst we are at it, if we have knots and crosses, how about others like a Soduku event? Crosswords? An 'Enigma Code' event? All go be completed in the quickest time possible obviously.

And even then, why not have others like a Rock Paper Scissors event or...... The ultimate..... A Staring competition??!!

It's too dangerous - as a sport it has a high mortality rate.
