I was on a jury for just such a crime a couple of years ago.It's big business. The joyriders and radio thieves of the 80s and 90s are long a thing of the past. Cars are stolen to order, keys nicked in a burglary, or on some models a whole new ECU fitted and off onto a RO-RO to the continent/further afield. Big, organised, lucrative, sophisticated.
