Something to do with cannabis growing? Though not sure they'd need to stop the person whose light had been stolen.
Although there was a spate of headlamps and grills being stolen a couple of years ago, and yes, a suggestion that they made good hydroponic lamps, its more to do with the wiring layout.

Mugshot

Cracking a solo.
Many years ago whilst between proper jobs I was doing bleeding 'orrible jobs for the agencies. I was on one with a lad who for some reason thought I'd enjoy listen to him drone on about his Escort, which he went to some lengths to tell me had an XR3I body kit.
He then moaned on and on about the scummy insurance companies that charged him a fortune because it looked so much like an XR3I. He then told me that he was about to fit a "lovely set of alloys" that his mate was getting for him.
At this point I took a wild stab in the dark and asked whether he realised that the lovely set of alloys that his mate was getting for him was one of the reasons that his insurance was so high.
"Muh?" he replied,
So I explained a bit to him about people nicking things and insurance and stuff and he nodded and thought about it for a while;
"They're a lovely set of alloys though." He said eventually.
I sighed and carried on putting frozen chicken pieces in boxes.

Couple of years ago a guy I know was attacked by 3 muggers in Leeds bus station. Big mistake! When the polis arrived they congratulated him and said it was the first time they had to summon an ambulance for the perpetrators. They then apologised and charged him with assault. Cannot remember exactly what eventually happened but basically common sense took over and he got off.

The pole and hook car key burglary is known as a 'two in one' or 'Hanoi' burglary.

Two in one presumably refers to the keys and car being nicked.

Hanoi is supposed to come from one of the Yorkshire police forces whose Operation Hanoi targeted that type of crime a few years ago.
Maybe up north but round here its called fishing.

Is it because its easier than stopping them with a taser?
Land rovers don't respond very well to being tasered . I mean you can try, but you need to hone your jumping skills first
