Bluecoat Chambers is just behind the main shopping street (Church St) and is another arty focal point with ambience and decent cafe. If you fancy walking along a beach (the one with 100 Anthony Gormley statues on it) you could hop on the train to Waterloo (15 mins from Central Station).
It's a shame you weren't there this weekend which I think is the last of this year's biennial arts festival.
But there's a cracking pub crawl to be had any day of the year.

Do they do return tickets and if so, why?

Yes - they are for all the woolybacks taking a nostalgic day out in Liverpool.

Thanks Pete, yes, might have to do the ferry. I'm thinking that by the time we've shaken off the beer, taken a walk around the docks and had lunch, then there will only be time to do one museum/indoor activity properly before we head home to feed the cat.

Of course, the Gormleys - if it's reasonable weather that's an idea, I've always fancied seeing them.

The thing is, if we get a good vibe off Liverpool then we can always go back for a longer visit in better weather.

"What do you call a Scouser in a suit. The defendant.."
"If you are going by car guard the wheels."
When I first moved from Leeds to Liverpool years ago, a friend said his mates car had been nicked from Toxteth, imagine my surprise when it was found in Gipton, is that near you ?

treble lock everything then fit locks to your locks, then connect everything to the mains so you have a good 230v runnng through everthing. Oh and most of all dont stop moving.
