I'm working my way through The Boys at the moment on Prime.
It's what would happen if a US Corporation could make superheroes and then chose people who were completely unsuitable narcissists. it's funny, moving and many other things.

Brilliant but incredibly graphic and full of the strongest possible language. Butcher, the anti-hero of the piece manages to get the C-word into most sentences. And indeed his friendly greeting is usually "Oi! C***".

Best summed up by the occasional episode warning messages - e.g.

WARNING : Some scenes may not be suitable for some, really most, let’s be honest, all viewers. But rest assured that any consensual relationships depicted, be they human, animal, superhero, or other, aren’t real, harmed no one, and in fact cost a hilariously large amount in visual effects

WARNING - This episode depicts a massive Supe Orgy, Airborne penetration, Dildo based maiming, Extra strength lube, Icicle phalluses and cursing. It is not suitable for any audience.

We still need to brave the 'latest' season of 'The Boys'.

Currently S2 The Last of Us - gory plant based Zombies.
MurderBot - funny sci-fi about a security bot that hacks his 'governance' restrictions, then realises he better not 'kill people' as they might notice and melt him down.

I'm moving on to the Last of Us next. I don't pay for Sky so I have to be prepped and ready to watch on a special offer or some such.

Some people think it is a foul mouthed (and effects) super hero comedy.
It's not. It is political satire disguised as such. Watch it with that in mind and it has some depth. The corporation is Vaught and who is now in charge of DOGE? 🤔

Love The Boys.

I read Garth Ennis's previous Comic "Preacher" years back and loved the Amazon series of it, but The Boys has utterly surpassed that in every way. The comic is much nastier than the TV show, but I think its better they've toned it down and changed things that in the end really work well on TV.

For those that don't know Simon Pegg, who put a reference to "Preacher" in his TV show Spaced, is actually the original inspiration for the Hughie character in The Boys comic so I find it charming they cast him as his dad in the TV show.

speaking of which, I watched the 2009 series of "Day of the Triffids". Starring Joely Richardson and Douggray Scott. Quite good. Quite dated. A bit boring and a bit silly. ok it wasn't that good.

Eddie Izzard surviving a plane crash by hiding in the toilets suggested to me this wasn't going to be high class accuracy, but I like any triffid adaption so I enjoyed it lol.

Only thing I'm really watching is Race Across the World.
Would love to get back to India one day.
I watched some last night and was really disappointed or maybe frustrated (turned off after a bit as so frustrating). I spent several months travelling the area they were in and each place I was thinking "they'll be there for a week there is so much to see there" and they were moving on next day!. Missing so much amazing stuff just daft.

I think the clue is in the title of the programme.

Lol....sort of the aim of the programme...but I take your points.
