Sean Bean is very unconvincing as a hard man.
Anyone else think ‘Michael’ is a ringer for Cav?

Landman (Paramount). I was sceptical at first but this is one of the best TV shows I have watched for a long time. Billy Bob Thornton is excellent. Most of the other cast are good too. The storyline is fairly interesting, the sub-plots are light hearted and quite welcome in what is otherwise a quite violent and tense series. Would recommend

I've watched Landman and enjoyed it apart from some of the story lines with the ex wife and daughter. BBT though is excellent.

Unforgotten - The Bradford City Fire (BBC)

Very good documentary about the 1985 fire that claimed over 50 lives, it was good because it particularly focussed on talking to people who were there and how they dealt with it rather than focussing on the cause and enquiry (though that is covered as well). One thing it highlighted was in the 1980s there had been several other fires in football stadiums with wooden stands, but nothing had been done to improve safety.

I think to find out later most of the deaths were people trapped by locked gates, must have been devastating. The documentary also highlighted that most people there simply had no idea what to do, I can't imagine that feeling.

Been slowly working through the Ascent of Man (Jacob Bronowski) on DVD. I remember seeing it on broadcast TV years ago. Brilliant series and still holds-up today (ie not superseded by modern science). Something of a landmark series setting a new style of documentary that others have tried to copy but none managed to even match.

Brilliant.

I did catch up on the BAFTAs last night and it showed me just how much TV I'd missed last year. Most of my stuff is iplayer or streaming so I don't see adverts for other shows so much. Crazy amount of shows out there.

Quite enjoying "The Game" on C5 9-10 Mon-Thurs with Jason Watkins and Robson Green. A thrilling cat & mouse drama.

Going back to the 70's...again...watching the Six Million Dollar Man on Legend. That'd probably be six billion today....
Funny how the revamped Gladiators has a character called Bionic. I suspect the majority of the audience haven't a value where the word came from :okay: . And happy belated birthday to Lee Majors, 86 in April. Happy childhood memories of running in slo-mo pretending I was doing 60mph....in flares:laugh:.

I loved the Bionic Man toy... looking through the back of his head to see through his bionic eye... and everything looked further away.

Andor (Series 2)

Episodes 10-12

I think not just the finest Star Wars story commited to screen, but one of the greatest TV shows ever. I watched the final episode twice tonight, it was just that good.

Still got the whole series to watch. Might watch the last couple of eps from series one again first... just so i can remember where it ended.

I'm quite jealous you've not seen it as its one I'd love to experience again from scratch. I think I am going to watch it all from Series 1 again, theres a few things in Series 2 that arn't serving as easter eggs but good references to things from that first series. It all ties together very well.

Currently watched Turning Point which is Netflix documentary on the Vietnam war. Very good albeit pretty harrowing at times.
Seems history continues to repeat itself though.
