While he was on I was thinking that I've heard much better at house parties.
Although that is becoming rarer as time passes too.

Last night's BBC New Year Music thing, Ronan Keating & Friends, what a load of utter dross, his singing sounds like a Billy Goat trapped in a barbed wire electric fence, went on to destroy songs by Garth Brookes & George Michael amongst others, comeback Jools Holland, all is forgiven

As per the above, a quite accurate summary of Mr Keating's efforts last night, I believe

all I could think of was the tale Spike Milligan tells in his war memoirs of "Bloody Awful" when the concert party were entertaining the troops in Italy, and someone kept appearing all over the Theatre shouting "It's bloody Awful" trying to dodge getting thrown out, and even after getting thrown out, re-appeared through the fire exit shouting "it's still Bloody Awful" if that's the best the BBC can manage, might I suggest next year, they just don't bother , as "Bloody Awful" was all Ronan "Karaoke" Keating deserves.

We've just started watching comedy time travelling show "future man" on netflix. A janitor obsessed with video games defeats the final level of an impossibly difficult game only to discover it is a test by future time travelling freedom fighters to select their hero-saviour. The show is extremely crude, puerile but also clever and funny with first rate cast and writing filled with knowing nods to other films; the protagonist even explicitly mentions "the last starfighter" when the future warriors explain his role.

Great fun and recommended.

It's got a definite Bond vibe but Hiddleston very good as in previous series.

Just finished watching the series Untamed https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Untamed_(TV_series).

OK. Earlier episodes were engaging and encouraging but then as series progressed became less credible coincidences and end was disappointing maybe as obvious, too easy.

But penultimate episode and all was revealed and it was like somebody pointed out to the script writers they were contracted for 6 episodes not just 5 so ... it all got a bit daft which for me spoilt the series.

I hadn't watched Broadchurch before so we watched all of that and I enjoyed it. Especially the Dr Who woman. Olivia Coleman seemed to forget her dodgy westcountry accent in every other scene though.

watching The Runaway now which is fairly good. A Harlan Coben adaptation apparently

We watched the BTS, but not the main prog

Very enjoyable. (I dropped by "Darrowby" on my June tour). Quite funny hearing "Tristan" in his natural northern accent, although he drifts in-an-out on set, possibly common in that situation

Think I've worked out from the prog that Helen's (Dad's) farm is on the gentle side of Fleet Moss, so I rode straight past it in 2020 🤦‍♀️ (a gorgeous loop upto Hawes - very glad I didn't climb Fleet Moss the hard way :O )

I do love Jool's shows (the regular show is probably much better than Hoot-a-nanny), but this year's did NOT sound a classic. The summary was something like ...

"featuring Lulu ... Ronnie Wood .... but also some current artists! Jessie J and Craig David!"

Jessie J and Craig David have both releasesd albums in the last few months, so they're pretty current.
