The editing/narration is as dire as ever
Eg; one section showed the rescue of a Klaas (tracked) tractor

It was on the ground being 'unrigged'(after being lifted), then it was back on the trailer, showing it being lifted.............

Every episode is bad, with a narrator that seems to think that he's on 'Bullseye'!!!!

With regard to the above programme, it was a difficult choice, as BBC4 had a Dave Allen special on at the same time

Steve Coogan seems so far removed from his Partridge role that it's astonishing.
Still only halfway through but loving it - I'd be happy with a second series if there's another story to tell.

IMO, Coogan is at his best playing straight roles.

We've been watching "the blacklist" on ITV streaming. It has James Spader as a criminal mastermind who gives himself up to the FBI and helps them with tricky and major cases in exchange for immunity, and certain favours. He is usually, but by no means always, several steps ahead of his enemies and indeed his FBI handlers, and there's an underlying back story which may or may not ever be entirely clear. Spader totally steals the show, which is no criticism of everyone else, but he is just first class

ITV appear to be gunning for some respectability by airing The Affair, which I thought was a genuinely interesting show, both in subject matter and the way it's made.

Worth a watch.

BBC have got his Mid Morning Matters from Sky on the iplayer now. Very silly and his sidekicks really make the show.

So far it's been mostly Rob Hatch, and Chat Stephens which, for me, is as good as it gets.

I like both of them too, especially Hatch as an enthusiastic commentator rather than the ex pro angle.
Dan Lloyd was phenomenal though imho.

Previous years they've had a switch over from kirby to hatch and back again - whoever starts the stage doesn't finish it, and then they swap over the next day - perhaps kirby has been put onto other duties, though I doubt it somehow.

Finished off Dear England (based on the play of the same name) last night.

Excellent stuff, covering Gareth Southgate's tenure as England manager. Very cleverly made, with Joseph Fiennes on top form and as with all the best stuff like this it's much more about psychology and relationships than it is about football (see also Ted Lasso).

Also pulls no punches at all when it comes to the ugly, racist side of fans.

Highly recommended.
