Luckily I spotted that kirby was doing a local 'evening with' live event so had to alert my partner, who might well have thought it was a lovely present, not to purchase a ticket for me!
I'd put that on a par with a dentist tooth removal visit with no anaesthetic.

My dislike of kirby is not entirely his presentation style, but more his frequent misreading of the race, and identifying riders incorrectly, but also then never correcting himself.
Pretty sure when hatch makes a mistake, he corrects himself later on.
Agreed that he does indeed witter; roundabouts, olive oil, tooting on bidons to name but three.

Used to like Stephens, but he's not as good as he once was (He's great on the cafe stop rides) but for me Dan Lloyd was one of the very best for his short tenure, very relaxed, knowledge rich, and correct and accurate observations.
I do like Blythe and Kelly has a certain charm imo.

Started Elle last night, the backstory to Legally Blonde and it's fun so far.

I've read reviews panning it, which I think are wide of the mark. If you like Legally Blonde (and I do) you know what you're getting. It's maybe not as funny as the films, but it's about Elle as a teenager, getting used to moving from LA to Seattle, so there was always going to be more of the drama element than comedy.

Lexi Minetree is great as Elle, to the point where she's almost indistinguishable from Reese Witherspoon, which is both impressive and a little confusing at times.

I do fondly remember Minder. George Cole was admittedly playing his stock character but honed to perfection over the many decades between Flash 'Arry of St Trinians to the more jaded and cynical Arthur Daley of Minder.

Carlton is a very lovely guy in person, met him a few times, and I like his nonsense sometimes, not so much a fan of his calling the finish now, but there are worse commentators in the sport for sure.

and yeah I think Dan Lloyd was very good, Matt is just like a labrador, boundless enthusiasm but no focus, it works on the cafe rides as they can edit it around the main story. the older i get the more I appreciate Kelly, whilst Blythe just annoys me more from his fashion sense than anything, its like Miami Vice was 40 years ago ok
