I know its a strange thing to say but would have been great to see them

you dont get a chance every day to see a sperm whale dead or alive

Back in 2001, I was driving on the island of Trondra in Shetland, when I saw that people were pulling up in their cars and then walking down to the shore. Curious that there was clearly something going on, out of 'nosiness' I did likewise. When I got down to the shore, I could see that a Sperm whale had beached itself. It was still alive and it was unclear if it was trying to get back into the sea or not. The problem is, these creatures need the natural buoyancy of the sea water to support their huge bulk; otherwise, they very quickly suffocate.

It did manage to get back into the water, but I don't know if it survived on not. Seeing one in the flesh, is a most impressive sight, they are huge creatures and even Orcas are wary to take them on.
we had a dead whale on the beach when I was a kid, i kid you not, they brought the army in to try and blow it up - what a mess. Then they tried to bury it in the sand but it kept reappearing - LOL - I think in the end there was a big storm and it was never seen again.

with the wind in the right direction you could smell it up to about 5 mile away
I'm sure once the Cetacean Strandings Investigation Programme and Scottish Marine Animal Stranding Scheme have done their post mortem(s) all will be revealed

I don't think whales are entirely infallible. Maybe they just made a mistake and got lost too far from their food supply, became ill and weak. Maybe.

This is Watford.... anything NOT below Watford is "oop North"!

They may have been looking for the nearest whale-weigh station....

How do you get two Whales in a car?

1. One in the front, one in the back

I reckon sonar has sent them off course, into water where their food doesn't live.

Half the Russian submarine fleet has probably slipped out of the Baltic into the North Sea, to remind Cameron not to get lippy about Litvinenko if he knows what's good for him.

I'll expect Blackjack bombers popping in and out of UK airspace at supersonic speed, too. Though obviously that doesn't do whales any harm.

Cameron will take his resultant ire out on some asylum seekers, or other vulnerable types.

Wales depressed at the Eco Apocolypse...FFS.

Do Wales* even watch TV?

Do Wales*, as a species, even notice surface creatures?

Do they give a shoot what floats on the seas surface?

*No points for Welsh jokes.

<edit> That sonar guff is nonsense too.
