I woke up this morning to the news of three sperm wales being washed ashore up north
I wonder whats gone wrong for these amazing creatures to have this happen ?

I know its a strange thing to say but would have been great to see them

you dont get a chance every day to see a sperm whale dead or alive

There are all sorts of theories as to why they end up beached, i've read theories that submarine sonar can cause whales to go off course, changes in ocean temperature and the gulf stream have been blamed, radioactive waste dumped or leaked into the sea have been blamed. I guess the truth as to why these magnificent creatures die on our shores will stay with the whales, man can only hazard a guess or theory as to why it happens.

My guess is that these are intelligent creatures who, in their despair at what humans are doing to the planet, decided to end their own lives. The planet would be better off without humans.

They swam into the North Sea where their food (squid) doesn't live, got dehydrated as a result and became distressed and disorientated and beached. (according to the bloke on the radio this morning)

How does the bloke on the radio know this???
Does he swim with the whales?
Can he communicate with the whales?
Makes me wonder how he came to this conclusion, even autopsy isn't going to give him that sort of information.
Why did they swim into the north sea in the first place?
Too many questions and not enough info .

I reckon the squid lured the whales in to the north sea, then sodded off and left 'em stranded... those pesky squids!

The BBC attitude to this story on Breakfast was a tad confusing. They showed film footage of the whales but then the giggly Louise (can't stand her as a news anchor I'm sorry) decided that the newspaper front pages shouldn't be shown as they had photographs of the whales.
