Moodyman

My surname is 'Mahmood' and when playing football in the school playground, they called me Moody.

It's stuck with me into adulthood. I'm not grumpy, honest.

The model number and date stamped on my Sturmey Archer 3 Speed Fixed Hub. Some day I shall get it on a bike instead of leaning against the wall.

We saw Chicago at the theatre and my daughter said that that was my song as no one takes any notice of me at home. It also seemed appropriate for an anonymous user name, because you could walk right by me and never know I'm there

If someone stood up in a crowd
And raised his voice up way out loud
And waved his arm
And shook his leg
You'd notice him
If someone in a movie show
Yelled "fire in the second row,
This whole place is a powder keg!"
You'd notice him
And even without clucking like a hen
Everyone gets noticed, now and then,
Unless, of course, that personage should be
Invisible, inconsequential me

Cellophane
Mister Cellophane
Should have been my name
Mister Cellophane
Cause you can look right through me
Walk right by me
And never know I'm there
I tell ya
Cellophane
Mister Cellophane
Should have been my name
Mister Cellophane
Cause you can look right through me
Walk right by me
And never know I'm there

Suppose you was a little cat
Residin' in a person's flat
Who fed you fish and scratched your ears
You'd notice him
Suppose you was a woman wed
And sleepin' in a double bed beside one man for seven years
You'd notice him
A human being's made of more than air
With all that bulk, you're bound to see him there
Unless that human bein' next to you
Is unimpressive, undistinquished
You know who

Should have been my name
Mister Cellophane
Cause you can look right through me
Walk right by me
And never know I"m there
I tell ya
Cellophane
Mister Cellophane
Should have been my name
Mister Cellophane
Cause you can look right through me
Walk right by me
And never know I'm there
Never even know I'm there

Come to think of it, why do we all have pseudonyms on forums? Even on specialist forums when we might know many of the other people?

Mind you, my mate Dave uses Facebook under an assumed name; then wonders why he is still Billy No Mates.

I can't remember how I came up with mine... in the old days of C+, but I love summer time so probably something to do with that.

As to why we use them I feel freer to say things with my CC name than I would with my real name - slightly shy by nature. I'm on facebook but with my real name and I hardly ever say anything on there.

It's the diameter of the wheels on my Dahon folder.

However, judging by the amount of people who think I am making some sort of statement about my manhood with my username, there's a lot of folder-envy on this forum.

about 10 years ago, I worked in an office with 5 Johns...so we all had unique identifiers to our names to avoid confusion. As my surname starts with G, mine was Jonny G...Not sure where the Jonny came from, I'm not a fan myself (too "Septic-Tank" for me)

Whenever i am frustrated by the fickleness of life, My stock retort tends to be "Jesu.... or Jeez"...so am now Jonny "Jeez" to a few of my friends.

One of my oldest friend calls me Jonny-Bored. When spoken (not spelt out) other people assume I am a skate/surfing/ironing fan or something similar but they are wrong....its a whole different story.
