I was quite impressed with myself on Saturday. According to Endomondo I made 42mph.

Low 40s here on my road bike.

The tandem is soon to be equipped with a computer and some drop bars though, so will let you know about that one

Fastest I have recorded is 83 km/h (51 mph?) down Holme Moss. I've also got just over 50 mph on Sutton Bank and Garrowby Hill but it's not easy - on Sutton Bank there's a sharp bend and on Garrowby Hill you have to watch out for the side winds and all too often it's necessary to brake behind a car on bends that a bicycle can get round quicker.

I've no idea what speeds I did on my recent Raid Pyrenean as I didn't have a cycle computer but I came off the Col du Tourmalet asap due to the weather (snow at the top). However I don't try to beat any records these days.

Probably should of posted this in here

I clocked my fastest time of the year yesterday without noticing; I clocked 44.4 mph down of the top of the Lammermuir Hills on the B6355 towards the Whiteadder Reservoir, with a good tail wind, I wish I'd went for it now! Not surprisingly when going back, 56 miles later into a strong headwind I bottomed out at just 5mph  It still doesn't beat 47.6mph down the String Road in Arran :becool:

50mph twice. Fromes Hill and Clee Hill. Numpties in cars were trying to overtake on Fromes Hill................

New highest speed of 47.6 mph achieved on Sunday during the Macc Monster sportive on the unclassified road into Macclesfield forest, just after the Cat and Fiddle pub. Probably could've hit 50 but for some scarey gusts of wind trying to take me sideways . Hit 40+ on 3 occasions on this ride. Hope they run it again next year.

I set the 30 mph warning sign off the other day. Long hill, pretty low gradient (2 or 3 %) and I chucked the bike into the highest gear and turned the pedals for all I was worth.
I don't have a computer/speedo on the bike, so have no way of judging speed any other time.
