Maybe you should try getting someone else to maintain it? Generally works a treat.
Are you offering?

On the flat with no wind I once managed 24 mph for a few seconds. The fastest that I've ever been downhill is 33 mph.
I don't even get to the starting line.

I can see what the 'senior' in your profile refers to now so I will spell it out.
Professional road races are held on roads closed to traffic and are marshaled with motorcycles and support cars. This means that they can use the whole width of the road and negotiate cross roads and the like without concerns about straying motorists and so forth. Riding in the same way at similar speeds as the pros (NOT the motorists) on roads, carrying normal traffic loads, would not be sensible or sustainable. Did you check my website?
So should British Cycling ban all the road races in the UK on open roads?

All I asked was if the type of racing that takes place in the UK most weeks during the racing season should be banned? Why the sarcastic face plant? The races are on roads open to traffic and the averages are often 28 mph. The governing bodies are in the main BC, TLI or LVRC. Unlike the pros most amateur racing unless circuit racing are held on open roads hence my question.

In the correct weather conditions and on a good flattish surface I can get up to 30+ mph and maintain it for a couple of minutes as a solo rider, but it certainly burns plenty of energy. My average speed on rides varies between 14-17mph which is a long way off TdF averages.

I'm the Chesney Hawkes of the cycling world.... a one hit wonder!
