An iMac!
It is an old Intel-powered one from 2017 in perfect condition and updated to a very recent version of MacOS using some tech jiggery pokery.
I already have an M4 MacBook Pro which is much more powerful than the iMac, but that isn't a problem because the iMac is going to be used exclusively as a gorgeous 27" 5k extension monitor.
I was going to save up £600-1,000 for a new monitor but then I discovered RetinaRelay, an app which will let me use the iMac as a monitor.
The iMac, app, and a couple of cables only cost me around £350, which I think is a bargain.
Bonus - once the iMac has been set up, I can pinch the Magic Mouse to use with the Macbook.
I am waiting for a Lightning cable to arrive so I can charge the mouse.
What I intend to use this for is to finally get round to playing about with FL Studio. I have a lifetime licence for the maxed-out software but found it very frustrating trying to use it on a cramped laptop screen - windows piled on windows piled on windows! I wanted to spread them out and now I will be able to. I will move most of the windows onto the iMac screen but can keep a couple on the MacBook.
What nudged me into doing this was seeing what this little boy was doing with similar music software...
Well, what he could do, I definitely...

Got one of those in the loft , logiccor graphics board died so a dead screen and never really did anything with it as we got a MacBook and transferred everything over.

There are kits available online to make a monitor from a dead iMac like that. Strip out all the bits and replace with a new monitor board.
I didn't fancy the faff of doing that (or the risk of breaking the screen when disassembling it!). In my case I have a working computer anyway so the software link option is there.
I was hoping to set it up today but Amazon cocked up the delivery of the Thunderbolt cable. I have cancelled the original order and reordered. Hopefully all will be well second time round!

A very second hand looking Hope stem cap (Came in Hope packaging - bought as new).
Undoubtedly looks worse zoomed in on my phone. But it’s hard to believe this is as it left Hope ? Shocking quality / finish. Have asked seller for a replacement……
