You'll like this then in New Scientist - Cats fail to grasp string theory!
:becool:

Most forms are too complicated for me. Despite being able to grasp string theory I struggle to get past the name and address part of most forms.

Me too, in fact this was in subject for my appraisal this week, lots of our systems are not unlike filling in complex forms where accuracy has to be high, and frankly, I just can't do forms. I have no idea why, I just can't. I can understand some pretty complex stuff though, just not complete a form. My Tax return use to make me physically sick. I hate on-line forms and rarely fill in those credit crd bits unless I really have too. Where possible I'll call and make the transaction over the phone. I'm crap really.

+1

I think you're being sensible. The more selective you are about using your bank and identity details on the internet, the better. Plus if you phone them, you make some kind of personal contact that can be referred back to if necessary and can often get questions answered on the spot.

If friends, acquaintances say things and I disagree with them, or if I am not sure what they mean, or if they seem to contradict themselves, we can still have an discussion about it. Relatives seem to go ballistic if I do the same sort of thing. Relatives cannot accept an alternative point of view.

Well, I'm glad to know it isn't just me. I have great difficulty telling my mother anything that she can't make out she already knows. Talking to her is like walking on eggshells.

And why did Timex increase the water resistance on its Ironman watches from 50m to 100m? If I was ata depth of over 300 ft in the Pacific during the Hawaian Ironman Triathlon, do they seriously think I'd want to know the time?

I hate it when you go into a shop and ask for something then THEY...ask if you want - thisthatandtheother...

No, just a whatever ! ! !

The latest - the co-op "have you got your discount card" - 'no, cant be arsed getting it out / havent got it with me'.

Though, I used to find the thought & application of using nokia phones a bit hard but now i'm quite conversant !

With anything - its just the overall vibe of the problem/situaition then i generally get it rather than someone explaining the intricasies..of things !

Annoying hey?
I went into the bank to pay a cheque and get replacement bank card, after each thing was done there was a "Can I help you with anything else today"
I was after a haircut next and when I asked whether they could do that for me I got a funny look from the cashier...

Beanz's avatar.

Seen it on here for ages and thought it was an arty representation of Professor Dumbledore. Actually it's some bloke's feet and bit of stained tarmac!!

Oh and Olive Oil as well.

When I was a kid (unless you went abroad or to posh eateries) it was something you got from Boots to put in your lugs.

Now there's half an aisle of it in Sainsbury's.

Calculus. I just bloody hate it. I'd like to partially integrate Newton's face with my fist.

I'm ok with the basic stuff ( and some not so basic stuff), but I suspect that understanding vector field theory is not what I was put on this earth to do!
