What's with the fuel prices! And cheap whisky, apparently ...

My local is now up to £1.59.9 for diesel. I think £1.40 for E10.

I have a dilema

we don;t use a lot of petrol normally

but I am currently approaching a half tank full

so - do I refill at 10p higher than a few days ago in the expectation that it will only go up

or wait until it is 1/4/ left and hope things are sorted by the end of next week??

and for people who work in areas that involve changing jobs every few years - is it reasonable for them to move house
including moving the kids to another school
every few years
so they don;t have to drive to get to work?

No one pops out the womb "needing" to drive anywhere. Their life choices and decisions are what makes it 'necessary'. People who have made different choices seem to manage just fine.

The average UK car commute is less than 8 miles, and 12% less than one mile! Theres no genuine reason why at least two thirds of those aren't being done by bicycle. My Grandad (the mysterious foreign one, not the British one) nefer learned to drive and cycled nearly 30 miles each way on a sit up and beg 3 speeder, all weathers, to his job as a park keeper, and did so into his early 60s.

People can drive a car for inappropriate journeys all they like, but they should at least have the balls to admit "yep, its just very convenient and im too lazy to do otherwise", rather than trying to justify it with arrant nonsense They'd at least get some small respect for their honesty.

This will not be sorted out next week, I have seen that Iran has mined the straits of Hormuz, at least 3 ships have been struck today, whilst others are just sat waiting ,& will probably end up going the long way round, America & Israel seems to have bitten off more than they can chew, and are unable to backdown, what a complete & utter mess they've got the world affected by

Very fortuitous for our local station, theyre shut for a few days for maintenance (or perhaps new pumps)
One week'ish ago it was £1.29 litre for E10
A few days later it was £1.33 I think
The fuel in the tanks im sure will represent a really good profit when they re- open...let's see what the price is for it then ?
