Roberts' Cycles - Peterborough (I don't know if this is still there, but used to love going in and talking to Mr Roberts!)
Robertsons? On the corner near the ET offices? Closed a year or so back, sadly he passed away. Lovely fella he was, always had time for a chat.

MrJamie

Oaf on a Bike
Mmmmm me think mickle is using this to prove the point that the small LBS are kicking the big chains' arse in service provision...
Ive found Phil Corleys, Milton Keynes (on the list) to be quite high-end with prices to match and on 2-3 times id been in as a clueless newbie, staff seemed utterly disinterested and unhelpful. Ive heard the same from local friends into cycling, but i get the impression if you walk in there with a full carbon roadie theyll be your best friend. On the other hand when I was fixing up my Raleigh MTB the young staff at Halfords (Bletchley/South MK) were amazingly helpful and informative - crazy!
