Mine would be Band of Brothers. It's such a well produced series and the documentary element with the interviews with the veterans is riveting. I found it far more engrossing than The Pacific on Sky (which is also a boxed set now I think, but I won't be buying it). The cast in BoB was excellent. I've avoided watching the 'how they made it' extra though as I think in some cases seeing behind the scenes technical wizardry can spoil the enjoyment of the actual film.

I ration myself to watching it every couple of years or so though as I never want to get to the point where I've seen it too many times.

Arrested Development.

Great cast, fantastic writing, achingly dry narration by Ron Howard - easily one of the best comedies of the last decade.

Not seen many but did like The Green Wing and Black Books. Cos they're funny*.

I don't have many but my worst and best is TJ Hooker. Awful, but somehow so bad it's entertaining. I've only worked through it once.

Band of Brothers is a great call, spent one wet and windy weekend indoors and watched the whole lot (followed by Saving Private Ryan) I haven't seen Pacific yet but I have seen mixed reviews.

I also have a Monty Python boxed set of the 4 films which is excellent as well as the first 5 series of House.....

This is what puts me off some boxed sets - I think I'd only ever buy something that I'd want to watch more than the once, even if I left a goodly time between viewings.

Might plump for the Enterprise boxed set next I think - not greatly into Star Trek nowadays, but quite liking the retro feel of this incarnation - especially since they announced Channel One is going (the only place I can watch it on tv at present).

For me it has to be Still Game

The humour is spot on and the characters are brilliant, for a comedy series it can be surprising at times when on the odd occasion it can be heart warming and very touching, Whilst jack and victor are the main characters for me the shows highlight is Winston.

The main thing about box sets is the "will i watch it again" question and with Still Game the answer is always yes, not always for the humour but most certainly for the character interaction.

You do get the odd star drop in for the odd show but i even forgive them for that, Robbie Coltrane as a bus driver

The Sopranos. The best (available) DVD box set* around. We're on our second-go-round ATM.

* For some incredibly frustrating reason, the full set of NYPD Blue DVDs have never been released. You can get up to series 6 or something but then they stopped releasing the subsequent (and better) ones. Maddening!

I only buy stuff I can see me watching again - Seinfeld, Arrested Development, the Alien Films...

for other stuff, I like LoveFilm - they have a decent range of TV boxsets in their inventory too (just catching up on the Sopranos now). Anything I feel I want to have to watch again, I can buy.
