Can I only have one?

Deadwood. It isn't my favourite DVD box set, it's my favourite thing of any kind.

My favourite DVD boxset is The Wire.

Of those I actually own as box-sets at the moment:

Band of Brothers
Absolutely
Twin Peaks
Family Guy
Star Wars Trilogy
Fawlty Towers

If I had to pick one, it'd have to be 'Twin Peaks'.

Arrested Development.

Great cast, fantastic writing, achingly dry narration by Ron Howard - easily one of the best comedies of the last decade.

A great series, I have Series 1 (did have series 2, think I ebayed it, wish I hadn't now), were there any more?

I have Sharpe but yet to watch it.

Lord of the Rings special editions are great, I used the Moria/Balrog scene to test the surround sound audio.

Not sure if it counts - but it does have some DVD's with it, is the Jeff Wayne War Of The Worlds CD/DVD box set, awesome. Created the same size as the original LP with matching artwork and all the disks slot inside.

Band Of Brothers,The Ealing Comedys, and dont tell anyone but.......The little house on the praire!!! Box sets are only to be opened and watched after a being dumped by your partner!!!

Father Ted, makes me laugh (a lot).

I'm glad some one mentioned Father Ted, I was thinking how I'd managed to get this far into the thread without I being mentioned.

I think it's possible the best present Mrs AndyLaw has bought me, I never tire of it. In a way I'm glad that there was only three series (not glad that Dermot Morgan died) and it didn't start to go off the boil the way the many comedy series do if they run too long.

Band Of Brothers is brilliant but Sopranos is far better. It's simply the best TV I have ever seen.

+1 to The Sopranos. I never got into watching it on TV but was hooked when I borrowed the box sets, quite simply brilliant.. except for the final 20 seconds.. why!!!!! Why not finish it like the ending in The Shield??

However.... I am not sure I am alone here, but my language reverts to very crude and rude after a session of Sopranos....

I was also a major x-files geek but cant really give it top marks due to the way in tails off quite patheticaly in final series..

Jonathon Meades. Funny, intelligent, thought provoking and one of very few people on tv who makes me go and look words up in the dictionary.

He's quality telly. Didn't realise there was a box-set - will have to look that up.

Brideshead Revisited. Wonderfully slow, although I find Jezza Irons a bit difficult to watch.
