To buy, it varies depending on mood and what's available. I recently enjoyed a wholewheat baguette sandwhich italienne (with sun dried tomato, mozzarella etc) Most yummy.

To make (and eat obviously) I tend to favour a simple egg mayonnaise on doorstop bloomer. It's my picnic sandwich and has associated happy memories.

Haven't had any sandwich epiphanies for a while, but a tupperware of salad i made for lunch in the office one day this week was divinely elevated with the simple additions of my wife's home-made Scotch Bonnet jam, plus a sprinkling of toasted pumpkin/sunflower/linseeds

I know some miserable people hate expressions such as 'nom', but get over yourselves, it was totally nomalicious.

Anything but Cheese and Pickle. My landlady, in the 60s when I was doing my apprenticeship, asked me if I liked cheese sandwiches. I replied I did and for the next six months that’s what I got to take to work. The Crows in the park also got fed up with them too.

Ham, Dutch cheese and English mustard for me, on seeded brown bread for preference.

Unless there are a couple of cold Lincolnshire or Cumberland sausages left in the fridge, in which case I will happily slice them up and cram them into a sandwich....

Either egg mayo on really nice bread rolls or mozzarella, tomato and basil paninis, depending on how continental I’m feeling.

If any inspiration is required check out the little strumpet on YouTube with the tattoos who seems to have a huge repertoire.
