Alarm at 6, pushed out of bed by kids in search of their morning milk by 6.30 at latest. Pack bag & help prepare breakfast, get bikes out of garage and leave them by the back door, then wave off Mrs Ethel around 7.15, when the real challenge starts: getting the kids dressed and ready, finding their shoes, and inserting a whimsical toddler into her backpack carrier.
Try to leave house by 7.50 as nursery opens at 8, usually successful by 8. Then a short 5 minute walk wheeling my bike with daughter on my back and son disappearing ahead on his bike.
Leave nursery at 8.10-8.25, for a 13-17km ride to work, depending on the time and weather - if I have time I sneak in a lap or two of Battersea Park, but need to leave the park at 8.30 to be at work for 9. Shower, at desk by 9.20.

Mr summerdays alarm goes off at 6:20, but I'm usually awake already. Quick look at the iPad to check emails etc. I hate getting out of bed before Mr Summerdays, so usually get up 5 mins after him about 6.55 am. The get dressed, start my porridge off, make youngest's sandwiches and mine. Run around making a coffee and grabbing bits wondering why I didn't get my bag ready the night before. Leave the house at 7.20 ish (depending on how unorganised I am). Get a lift for the first few miles and then commute by bike about 9 miles. Arrive at work and switch straight into work mode though grab a coffee if I can.

Up at 6, or earlier if Boushti the cat decides it will be so. Feed cat. Make porridge. Have shower while porridge cooking. Make tea. Sit on sofa or return to bed with porridge and tea. Read Guardian on Kindle. Put on cycling clobber, try to remember to get everything into pannier inc. fruit, wallet, phone, Kindle, pants. Especially pants. Get bike out of Asgard locker in small rear garden. Return to flat, clean teeth. Decide on headwear (winter cap or summer cap?). Spend five minutes looking for keys. Put on cycling shoes. Fit pannier to bike. Return to flat, forgot gloves. Look for gloves. Decide not to bother with gloves. Go back outside. Chilly. Return to flat, decide to look for gloves. Can't find them. Go back outside. Find gloves on top of wheelie bin. Clip iPod to shorts, cue up Podcast. Unlock gate. Realise I need a shoot. Lock gate, return to flat...

until I quit my job 3 years ago it was up at 5:45am 5 days a week, eat, make lunch, collect swim kit from hall radiator and out of the house for 6:45am latest. Arrive at work for 7:30am (8.5 miles cross country off road on a mtb) and go for a 1km swim, shower, eat again and in the office at my desk for 8:30am - there was a slight alternative which was gym or swim at lunch as well depending on how bad the day in the office was - really bad meant I went swimming again at lunchtime just to get away from everyone... leave at 5pm, change cycle home...

Now (although I don't have a paid job) 3 times a week it is up a 7:30am, nebuliser, eat and out of the house by 9:00am and at my parents' home by 11am... then leave around 4pm to be back at home for 6pm...

Up at 0405 hrs, brush teeth, get dressed on bike by 0420 hrs. Arrive at work between 0610hrs and 0620 hrs (depending on wind) get showered and changed, have cup of tea and cereal bar and start work by 0650hrs. Unfortunately I can only do this twice a week due to other commitments after work.
