Can't cope with Car SOS - isn;t that the one with that annoying prat who always manages to persuade people to give him parts for free

what I say prat - other words had occurred to me

or am I think of something else

anyway - seen all the WD episodes about 5 times now so a bit fed up of them
I do agree that it was better when they had a small budget and did up less dramatic cars and couldn;t just throw money at the problem

If you like the early ones and preferred the "Edd" bits then I would certainly look at Edd's Youtube channel
Basically like early WD with no Mike and just the Edd bits
plus far more Paul and similar people

The whole concept of the programme is nonsense in the real world.

They never account for anyone’s time in sourcing and selling the cars or the huge time in repairing them, buying the workshop and tools etc.

Yeah Tim Shaw, he's a local made good lad so I have to jump to his defence, but who do they think they are kidding with their antics, nothing they do is spontaneous it's all pre planned, I think the show would be better without them.

But back to WD, Paul the head mechanic told the format on one of Edd's utubes, the researchers would find the car & agree the deal etc. They would then film Mikes bit, it would come back to the garage & Edd would look at 4-5 things, all the other stuff was done by 4 other mechanics

Brewer is an old-fashioned car dealer of which there are fewer and fewer left.

As such, lots of people will find him smarmy, and declare him disreputable, in common with the popularly held view of estate agents.

He might be both, either, or none of those things.

I like the programme, but just cannot get vexed over its degree of veracity.

I'll have WD and Car SOS on for something to pass the time - eyes open on how it actually works though. I like to look up the cars' MOT histories though - some don't last well!

I quite like Shed & Buried - another case of a 'comedic' front man and a straight spanner guy, but somehow a bit quainter. The level of knowledge is impressive too. Plus Henry Cole lives near me and I recognise all the places they go on test rides of various things.

Much prefer Car SOS at least it appears to be helping people whom have had a rough time. Fuzz is sound and Tim doesn't really annoy me, but can see why he would others. The show has got worse just to me, the more it has gained popularity and its budget has visibly been increased. Can't say I've enjoyed the odd episode where they did up an old Fire engine and a JCB. It is called Car SOS afterall..

WD - Mike is just a bit of wide boy and full of sh1t, but doesn't really annoy me either personally. Have to say prefer Ed China to Ant. The whole lot is a bit pointless though. Always seem to make a profit with numerous free man hours. Something which is impossible to most people. Used to quite like the older series, Deals on Wheels, but preffered Richard Sutton to Mike.

Many years ago I bought a Mk2 Ford Escort off someone once for £150, sold as not running. He'd had it in two garages spent a fortune and was no better off. I bought and fitted a second hand distributer cap and it ran fantastic. I repainted the bottom half and sold it back to the guy for £500.

I enjoyed the JCB episode, as well as the Mustang

Prefer 'Diesel Brothers' & 'Kindig Customs', but I'd like see 'Sin City Motors' (aka 'Welderup') return
