Maker of Things
Hard to say given I am single at the moment.
Going back to the last woman I could say that about it would be about a couple of months before she called it off.
Then she wanted it back on again, then off, then on, then off, then on, then off, then she met someone else.
Somewhere through all that I think being in love with her ceased to matter somewhat.

Just after we had first met when we were in the middle of one of those long in depth chats that you have when you first meet someone (and then you don't ever again ha ha)

The very first time i saw her, leaning out of an upstairs window talking to her then boyfriend who i worked with. It was complicated but i kept my counsel, they split up a year later and i declared all. 13 years and 2 kids later I still skip a heartbeat when i see her.

Always been a bit of a romantic fool .Flowers and choccies .

This June it will be 20 years .

It was when i saw her -----------------------------wage slip compared to mine .

When Gorgeous was taken to A&E while we where on Boys Brigade camp and I couldn't go with her because I was duty Officer that day. I was so worried until she returned but the up side was that Gorgeous went to lie down for the afternoon with only myself left on camp to keep an eye on her.

Stay together, grow old(er) together and you start having them again, sometimes involving quite startling challenges to your assumptions about each other.

I can't remember the first time I realised but I still occasionally have a moment where I am suddenly shocked by just how much I love Mr Weenie. They're always random, it's been him cradling our fattest cat and telling her how naughty she is while rubbing her chin, it's been him sitting in a car park for an hour to pick me up from a music rehearsal even though he didn't know when it ended 'in case I got cold', and the many times I've come home from work and been so happy that he's there when I get in.

Mr BP was the first "man" I had been out with, up til then I had dated a couple of boys I had known from school. He just seemed to take care of me and was such a gentleman. I think I realised that I loved him afer he had been away with some friends and we had been apart for a week - I couldn't wait to see him and almost squeezed the life out of him when I saw him again!

20-odd years later I still get a little lurch in my tummy when I see him, but like WW said, it is unexpected - he might be looking super-smart for work or just have a "look" about him, which reminds me why I still love him after all!

What a soppy bunch we all are - but it's nice to hear everyone's stories.

I knew the first day my 'wife to be' and I met and we couldn't even speak each other's languages. I was touring Europe on an Interail train pass (during my student days) with a Panamanian friend (who was later to be my best man) and we ended up in the north west corner of Spain (Galicia). We stopped off to visit a Spanish friend for a day we both knew from university and she brought along a couple of her friends. We had a great day together touring the ragged coastline of Galicia, and on my return to England one of the friends (of the Spanish friend we were visiting) and I ended up writing to each other for nearly two years. Since she couldn't speak English and I couldn't speak Spanish I had to use the services my Panamanian friend to translate the letters. Things got even more complicated when I left university, because my translator moved to the states and I moved down to Hampshire.
