When I stand at the gate and fumble for my key.

If I've taken the shortest possible route, I don't feel home until I've got in the house and taken my boots off. The longer the route I've taken, the further from home I can be before I feel home.
Glad to hear someone else feels like they're home when they're still miles out. I was starting to think it was wierd.

I feel it on the bus or as a passenger in a car, oddly. When the vehicle rolls up past the local school just down the road.... havent ever felt it on the bike though. I have to be on hallowed ground first, LOL!

When I step into the kitchen and ask my wife what's for tea, and she tells me it's the burnt leftovers from her lunch. Home, sweet home.

When I have finished the 0.5mile climb coming out of George Square in Glasgow, there is still about 2 miles to go at the this point but it always feels good to get the climb out of the way!

Here for rides.
As I wheel the bike through the back door. Given that the last 2km of my commute is the bit where I am most likely to come into the most conflict with other road users I can't drop my guard any earlier.

Once the cats are tripping me up pestering for their tea whilst I'm trying to put the bike away

Or on a detour, here, a few hundred yards after Fox House when the road levels off and then descends all the way home

Puzzle game procrastinator!
If I'm riding back from Oxenhope (north of Hebden Bridge) it's the summit of the climb because there is then a glorious 4.5 mile descent to Hebden Bridge which brings me back to within 250 yards of home!
