When do you winterise?

For some it depends on weather and others it's a certain time of year, but when do you refit the winter wheels, tyres, lights, mudguards etc

I'm bored and nearly marched off to the shed to get it over with but I got outside and luckily it's still warm so thought better of it

I never particularly de-winterise, even on the roadies I left mudguards and light brackets in place.

The only change is marathon winter tyres around the end of January when we most likely get snow.

I normally swap to fixed at the end of October, the geared bike gets a good clean and is put away till March.

Post work ride tonight illustrated that I need to find / charge the proper front light this weekend.
I run my hybrid and the Road Comp with mudguards year round and I always have 'be seen' lights on, so not much else to do apart from find my bib tights and proper gloves.
:okay:

Pretty much what he ^^^^ said, the only changes this year are rechargeable lights front and rear.

Triban is set up as an all year round bike so theres nothing to do apart from making sure i have the correct lighting for those darker nights. I would like to switch the Durano Plus tyres for some Conti GP II's at some point and see what the hype is all about but thats about it.

My Carerra is permenantly winterised, as soon as the bad weather starts, the Giant Defy hibernates.

I leave my bikes as they are all year round. In winter, I only go on a ride on sunny days and temperature above 7 degrees. The rest of the time I use rollers with an old bikes that never does anything else.

I have a Giant Defy set up with mudguards which I use on rainy days in the summer and the during the winter.

I use the MTB and CX more during the winter too as spinning round mucky fields and hills can be more fun than manky roads during the winter.

Like others, I don't really winterise or not. I ride with mudguards year round as it's just more convenient, and I like being dry. They don't weigh much or rub, so there's no downside to them. I also keep a rear light attached all the time as sometimes, especially at this time of year visibility can be diminished on my commute. If I had a "for best" bike I may well not put mudguards etc on, but then I wouldn't be riding it daily anyway.
