When do you winterise?

The 'winter' bike's always set up but has to live outside under a cover. It's an Eastway R4.0 frame with Shimano 2300 groupset and mudguards. I pulled it out today for a look - new chain and bar tape needed - which will be done by mid October. Once the lights change then that'll become the main bike until Spring.

For some it depends on weather and others it's a certain time of year, but when do you refit the winter wheels, tyres, lights, mudguards etc

I'm bored and nearly marched off to the shed to get it over with but I got outside and luckily it's still warm so thought better of it
My bike stays the same all year round. No mudguards, no change of tyres, and lights all year round. Washed and lubed regularly. I honestly don't see the point for my commute and don't have time for all the faffing around anyway.

^^^^^^^ This.

The bike stays the same apart from getting dirtier in the winter. I get a bit wetter and colder but I have clothes to lessen the effects of weather. I don't understand why some people like to hibernate.

As it's an MTB for me,the only winterising that's required is leggings,a vest under my top and a Softshell type jacket .
Usually round end of October time

It depends on the weather. If it's wet,or icy and we have salty roads i use a bike with 28mm tyres and mudguards. If it's dry and the roads haven't been salted for a while and it's rained since last salted(i check these things;)) i'll use my best bike, which has 23mm tyres and no guards. I don't hibernate bikes.

I swap the shorts for the full legging bib things, short sleeves for long sleeves. The bike? It's a bike.

Just put my summer road bike away, it needs a new front wheel (bearings have ground down into dust! It's an old wheel!) It was cheaper to get my winter bike up and running..

saying that my winter bike is pretty much the same as my summer bike but has disc breaks. Dont even have mudguards just an ass saver. but it can fit bigger knobblier tyres when the time comes. Also it's nice to be able to get off the dirty wet roads and onto dirty wet tracks/paths/canals for a few months.

I set off about 0630 for work . Just starting to use lights now. Leave mudguards on year round .
Needed a jacket for the first time yesterday but overheated a bit.
