do not keep pedalling with all your strength in the vain hope that it will sort itself out but STOP immediately.

not my bike, but can you see what happened? A TOTAL AND COMPLETE LACK OF MECHANICAL SYMPATHY.

So what happens is the chain acts as a saw and cuts through the spokes, 4 cut completely, 3 damaged so will ping soon, one almost ok.

Any of my bikes that had them, got them removed, make me wonder now ....

...or a properly adjusted limit screw. Not that I've never shifted off the cogs.
