If you need a 170mm 105 compact, I'll have a nearly new one by the end of the week

Am I right in thinking the shortage is down to the bike manufacturers not being able to get the parts?
ie - they can't get shimano parts so can't build the bikes?

Makes you realise how many bike manufacturers rely on shimano!

Read somewhere a Shimano factory in Malaysia has been closed due to vivid.

Increased demand, Brexit , pandemic all contributing.

Yes frames available but component shortage
I guess the manufacturers spec the bike with say Shimano Ultegra so can't really ship it with say SRAM force

Frustrating all round.
Riders can't get new bikes or new components.
Manufacturers can't build new bikes to sell.
At same time 2nd hand prices have shot right up.
