Nice area, not too far from us. Good area for cycling although a lot hillier than others might expect.

Tell me about it, there aren't many flat options but yep great pedalling territory. Some challenging little climbs dotted all around - Yorks, Toys, Bayleys, Hubbards, Sundridge, Hogtrough and Brasted (aka b@stard) Hills to name but a few.

I was brought up on the "flat plains" of Lancashire and was quite a shock when I came down to Kent.

From Sevenoaks, drop down Hildenborough (which is a fabulous, long climb on the way back) to Tonbridge then you have the whole of the flat weald in front of you, miles and miles of it all the way down to Ashford and the Romney Marshes.

There's a few along the Pilgrims Way.
I used to do repeats, first up was up Rowdow, down Cotmans, up Old Terry's Lodge, down Exedown and then back in reverse.

Noted, ta.

My regular solo route is along Pilgrims further West - so Sundridge, Brasted and Hogtrough are my 'go to' short sharp climbs

We do go down that way sometimes when we want a faster, flatter ride. Don't go as far as Ashford though!

Born in Leeds, spent a lot of time in Peak District and Sheffield in my early to mid twenties without officially living there. Moved to Dull for work got married, lived 3 East Yorkshire villages then moved to Lincolnshire. Moved back to East Yorkshire then North Yorkshire when I retired. Ended up back in East Yorkshire when Mrs W’s brother and parents became ill. Now back in North Yorkshire after Mrs W retired.

Dull ? In Perthshire ? Surely there can’t be another one ?
