Lots more cars on the road this morning and very few cyclists, in fact while it was hissing it down and blowing a gale, the first 50 minutes of my commute, I saw no other cyclists. The last half hour, the rain stopped, the wind eased and I saw a couple of cyclists.

I still saw all the usual suspects on my commute - they were just all dressed up in various shades of "waterproof" rather than shortsleeves and shorts!!

The numbers were slightly down in the big smoke this morning.

It was hard going with a head wind and squally rain, I spooked myself as my rear wheel kept slipping on manhole covers, and one time I lost the front end but managed to hold it together. I think pumping my tyres to 110 psi last night was a mistake.

Hardest ride for long time, yesterday 49 minutes today 1hr 2m. LOTS of close passes much higher than normal and two or three of them great big waste lorries, had to hard brake on one as he undertook a car on a DC I could have reached out and touched the side scary stuff in normal conditions add the gusting wind and it really scared the crap out of me.

Add to that the wind was taking my breath away which felt really odd.

New commute for me. It would appear that 3 is the total number of cyclists I'll be seeing and only one of those was going in the same direction as me.

I was on the District line wondering if only being a fair weather commuter is worth the extra 30 minutes I wasted in the rammed tube, crawling along the stations.

As I was cycling along in heavy rain with a strong headwind one of the things going through my mind was how glad I was to be back on my bike for commuting and not stuck on a train, albeit a fairly empty one.

I dislike the tube so much and go years without using it...apart from the work related trip from Wimbledon Park to Wimbledon, which is bearable, ironically I may need to use it this Sunday.

I don't see many cyclists even if the weathers nice, I saw even fewer this morning. Peeing down when I left the house. Full yellow wet suit, jacket and trousers, plus overshoes, got into where I work in Nuneaton and all they had had was a few spots. Tough ride home, into that strong cold wind all the way, made tougher as my legs haven't fully recovered from the 33 miles into the wind I did on Sunday's 66 miler.

I see more cyclists when I'm going home from a night shift (6am) than at any other time.
This morning there appeared to be none, until I got a bit nearer home that is, then I was passed by 2 guys travelling side by side who gave me a cheery 'hello' despite us all being wet and cold and blown about by the sidewinds.
This could be the pattern all week if the forecast is to be believed :rain:

I was up early to commute to work this morning as usual, but after looking out of the window I thought sod it and got back in bed for an extra 40 minutes! Not sure what made me bottle it today, I have used the bike in far worse conditions. Went to work in the car, but by midday I was wishing I had my bike. Sun was out, still windy but I suppose theres always tomorrow!

Back on the commute this morning. I never usually see any other cyclists on my short commute. It was cold and hosing it down this morning ☔. I was about four minutes slower this morning but it was good to be back on the bike again.

Sun was shining on my commute today! Road was still wet though, so it had obviously rained earlier up here. There was a bit of wind, but nothing record breaking.

Saw 12 cyclists along my 4.5 mile route, which is fairly average if not higher.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Got nicely wet on the way to work and i have nowhere to dry my kit, cant beat damp lycra into a nasty headwind which meant i was using the small chainring even on the flat.
